Benches
The garden bench that appears in the first four pictures came from a picture I saw in a book. I had some cedar left over from when I had made some flower planters. It has provided seats for many friends and family during summer evenings on our patio, not to mention pumpkins during the fall. It also provides a great seat to stay warm on by the chiminea on a cool fall evening and creates interesting looking designs when it snows.
I made the park bench with a backrest, in the fourth picture, when we lived in Colorado Springs. It originally had a coat of redwood stain and a high gloss finish. The weather (tornados and blizzards) eventually took its toll and now I just sand it and stain it every other spring. It is also a great bench to relax on while enjoying the chiminea.
The last picture is just a small bench I put together from some scrap pieces of wood to make a bench for our front porch. It has turned out to be great for deliveries to be set upon instead of the ground, especially food deliveries.
